Ahead of this year’s deadline for New Music Biennial 2022, composer Claire Singer discusses her experience of 2019’s festival

Claire M Singer was commissioned by London Contemporary Orchestra: for the New Music Biennial 2019. Composer, producer and performer of acoustic and electronic music, film and installations Claire’s work incorporates the aesthetic of electronics created purely through acoustic means. Following the New Music Biennial, the work toured the UK.

Ahead of the 20th September deadline for applications to take part in the New Music Biennial 2022, Claire discusses with PRS Foundation’s Grants & Programmes Manager Elizabeth Sills what it was like to write a 15 minute piece, work with a commissioning organisation and take part in the festival weekends.
