Composer Residencies showcase event 24 June 2017 in Hull City Hall
Ahead of PRS Foundation’s New Music Biennial festival weekend in Hull, the exciting New Music Biennial Composer Residency programme will be taking over Hull’s City Hall on Saturday 24 June 2017 with local communities performing highlights of the new music that they’ve been creating with five of our New Music Biennial composers.
Doors open at 2.45pm, and at 3.00pm the five groups of local participants who’ve been working with New Music Biennial’s Jason Singh, Sam Lee, Brian Irvine, Eliza Carthy and Errollyn Wallen will take turns to perform and showcase their new pieces of music.
Once the performances have finished at 4.30pm, there will be a mass listening moment as part of New Music Biennial Minute of Listening, a special edition of Sound and Music’s simple digital learning tool which provides primary-aged children with the opportunity to experience 60 seconds of creative listening.
Tickets to the showcase are FREE and available from the Hull UK City of Culture website here.
